Visit www.couchsurfing.com to find a couch or bed in a foreign country. The website is run as a platform to connect travellers with hosts in their chosen destination.
Cyclists can check out www.warmshowers.org for a list of hosts willing to offer conversation, route suggestions and perhaps a free night.
Another website www.hospitalityclub.org connects travellers with hosts worldwide. The hosts may offer free tours of their cities and perhaps accommodation.
If you take advantage of any of these services consider reciprocating once you are home again.
