My All Time Favourite Accommodations List

PinExt My All Time Favourite Accommodations List

On my travels I favour small family run or boutique hotels, B&B’s or interesting inns. I’m not a Four Seasons gal – partly because it’s out of my price range. Instead I love the more intimate experience where you can learn something about the area from the owners or fellow guests. And I love meeting other guests. Fortunately I can read social clues and know when to leave people alone. Despite my extensive traveling, I haven’t found that many memorable places. Lots are pleasant and well appointed but they haven’t managed to differentiate themselves from the masses. Here’s my list of all time favourite accommodation around the world. Many aren’t fancy but they leave you with a lasting impression.

Canada

  • Blomidon Inn , Wolfville, Nova Scotia. This inn holds fond memories from the late 70′s for me – well before it became an inn. A company I worked for rented the place for the summer and we used the place as a base camp.

  1. Great post Leigh,
There are some great places there.

My all time favorite is Cradle Mountain Lodge in Tasmania. Excellent spot, unreal breakfast and a wonderful common room! It is on the edge of the Tasmanian wilderness, a bit pricy but we just keep going back. ( ps, hi from cambodia)
