Desolation Sound, found at the northern end of British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast is world famous for its summer boat cruising. It also draws lots of sea kayakers – not only for the beauty but for the fact that the waters are warm enough for swimming in the summer. You can easily spend a week to 10 days in this area poking around the islands and islets. Once past the actual Marine Provincial Park you’re unlikely to see anything but the odd sailboat.

  9. What a beautiful region (and photographs). The little of what I’ve seen of Canada’s natural beauty has been very impressive. Can’t wait to see more of it.
