Fabulous Friday Travel Blogs

I’ve seen the White Sands National Monument on a New Mexico map when I’ve driven in the state – but I had no idea that the monument would be so worth visiting. Technosyncratic – a travel blog – offers an incredible set of images of their blog. They also tell you how much fun the place is to visit. It sounds like a great place to take your kids.

Fabulous Friday Destinations

My destination Moscow? Who actually makes Moscow their destination? I have a friend who did when he went to the Canada – Russia hockey series back in the 70′s. But most people I know don’t think of visiting Moscow – even though the city has a history dating back over 1000 years. Moscow is huge – over 1000 square kilometers in size. The Moscow Underground, which has made it into the book – 1000 Places to See Before You Die – ensures that it’s easy to get around. It’s also cheap – about 0.30 and many of the stations sport elaborate decor – mosaics, crystal chandeliers, gold leaf and faux Roman statues.

Moscow architecture

The most famous image in Moscow is probably St. Basil’s Cathedral which can be seen from Red Square.

If you have money to burn – about $3000 – then you can take a ride in a MiG-29 Fulcrum jet fighter over Moscow’s airspace with full and very necessary interpreter services. Check out the travel information for Moscow to discover what else you can do in the city.

Fabulous Friday Adventurer

Sarah Outen, a British gal, started out on April 1st on an 800 day mostly solo round the world adventure. Her trip will be a combination of cycling and paddling including a paddle across the north Pacific and the north Atlantic. The first leg of her journey took her across the English Channel – at night – with a companion boat because the channel is a major shipping lane. She and her buddy made it in one piece and she’s now cycling in Europe. This is one lady worth following.

  2. Great posts here – thanks so much for including us! The White Sands National Monument is definitely a great place to bring kids… especially if you also bring sleds. :)

  3. I wouldn’t have thought about sleds so glad you made mention of that. Next time I drive through New Mexico I plan on visiting White Sands – and since I love New Mexico I hope to do that sometime soon.

Those lessons are used as a backdrop for Dennis N.T. Perkin’s book, Leading at the Edge. Dennis brings his considerable talent as the CEO of The Syncretics Group, a company that specializes in [...]
