Favourite Books – 2006

I read a total of 34 books in 2006. Out of the 34 books, these were my favourite reads. Looking back there were only a few I should have given up on by page 50.

Favourite Books 2006

  • Catfish and Mandela: A Two-Wheeled Voyage Through the Landscape and Memory of Vietnam by Andrew X. Pham
  • Sweetness in the Belly by Camilla Gibb
  • The Long Walk by Slovomir Rawicz . This is one of my all time favourite books and in 2011 it is starting to hit the bestseller list. It’s one amazing adventure and journey – from a POW camp across the Himalayas into India.
  • Paddle to the Amazon: The Ultimate 12,000 Mile Canoe Adventure by Don Starkell Perhaps not the most likable guy but he sure knows how to push the limits.
  • Passionate Nomad: The Life of Freya Stark by Jane Fletcher Geniesse
  • The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro
  • The Wreckage by Michael Crummey
  • The Perfection of the Morning by Sharon Butala
  • An Anthropologist on Mars by Oliver Sacks
  • Atonement by Ian McEwen
  • Once is Enough by Miles Smeeton
