You’ve heard of Air Transat – right? It’s the holiday airline that offers great pricing on flights from Canada to Europe as well as a whole range of all-inclusive holidays and flights to sunny destinations. They’ve got Mexico and the Caribbean covered as well as a few of the super popular holiday destinations in the United States.
And your point?
Air Transat is behind a win-win opportunity for people who love to travel and get behind a good cause. On Monday, November 30th – otherwise known as Cyber Monday, the third annual #TransatAuction takes place on Twitter. You can bid on one of their holidays in the sun or a flight to Europe (with bids starting as low as $5) and all the money they raise will go to SOS Children’s Villages.
Geneviève LeBrun, Vice President, Marketing, Transat Tours Canada says:
consumers have a shot at getting incredible prices for their dream vacations, while giving back to an amazing cause.
Tell me about SOS Children’s Villages
As the largest charity for orphaned children in the world and one that’s been around since 1949, SOS Children’s Village has helped over 80,000 abandoned and orphaned children in 134 countries. Their stated goal is “a loving home for every child” in addition to basic needs like food, shelter, health and education. Today there are 2,000 Children’s Villages in addition to programs that help with vocation, family strengthening, schools and hospitals.
Since 2009, Transat has supported SOS Children’s Villages and over that time period helped 25,000 at risk children. In addition, Transat and its customers have raised over two million dollars – money that gets spent in many of the destination they fly to.
Where can you fly and holiday with Transat?
Transat is offering 2o auction lots consisting of round-trip flights to Europe and all-inclusive holidays in the sun. Can’t you just picture yourself on a beach in Mexico or on the exotic island of Curaçao off the coast of South America? Ditch those Vitamin D pills for a couple of weeks and get it naturally.
How does the bidding for the #TransatAuction work?
You need a Twitter account to participate. It only takes a few minutes to sign up. If you’re new to Twitter you may need to get some help as initially it can all be a tad confusing.
Next – follow Air Transat on Twitter. Then add a column with the hashtag #TransatAuction to one of the twitter management programs like Hootsuite or Tweetdeck.
Starting on Friday, November 27th check out what the bidding lots look like so you’re prepared on Monday. You can do that here. Each of the 20 auction blocks will be open for 30 minutes.
Have fun this weekend planning and dreaming about where you’ll go.
Set a timer so you can go online when the block of interest is auctioned.
Thank you to Air Transat for sponsoring this post. I think this auction is a real win-win event.
