For a tiny country Switzerland packs a punch. It’s beautiful, clean, ordered and bloody expensive. But with cheese fondue and some amazing local wine you may be able to look the other way for a few days. In summer explore 60,000 kilometres of signposted paths through a glorious landscape of mountains, lakes, forest and vineyards. In winter check out the skiing – both downhill and cross-country. In March the annual Engadin Skimarathon takes place with 11,000 to 13,000 skiers participating in a 42 kilometre race.
