Alaska is huge, about four times the size of the state of Montana. It’s got more coastline than any of the other US states combined. While the human population is small, it boasts abundant wildlife including upwards of 50,000 grizzly bears and 30,000 brown bears. If you love wilderness and open spaces Alaska is the state to visit. Go in the summer for hiking and kayaking and in winter for skiing, snowshoeing and dogsledding. Visit Denali National Park to see Denali, the highest peak in North America.
