Newfoundland in 25 Inspiring Photos

For two weeks one summer, I had the pleasure of exploring Newfoundland. I’d booked the trip to research and experience some of the best outdoor adventures the province has to offer. Although I’ve already documented most of the adventures on the blog, there’s plenty of great scenery from the trip I never shared. Here’s a look at Newfoundland in 25 photos from the East Coast Trail near St. John’s to Gros Morne National Park, from Trinity to the tip of the Bonavista Peninsula and from Fogo Island to Twillingate.

You’ll notice a lot of blue sky in the photos. I visited from June 19th – July 3rd and had only three days with any sort of rain. It was also a year with a bumper crop of icebergs.

  1. If I had not already booked my summer trip to Yellowstone, I’d be looking at flights from Texas to Newfoundland. This looks so beautiful. My teen would LOVE to kayak out to an iceberg. I like the root cellar, and that warning sing about the end of the Flat Earth is hilarious.

  2. Amazing pictures, Leigh.
I’m glad you had good weather, because some folks get nothing but rain, drizzle, and fog on their travels in Newfoundland.
You really hit up some beauty spots, and the iceberg season was pretty good.
Newfoundland is a great place to have an authentic adventure. Small crowds, friendly locals, lots of culture and history, and beautiful wild land.

  3. Beautiful photos, Leigh – they make me want to see more of Newfoundland! We only had 7 days when we were there and saw St. John’s and area, a bit of Terra Nova, Trinity and Elliston. I want so much to see the icebergs in Twillingate and get up to Gros Morne.
